We have kept you informed of the military maneuvers of the Islamic State (ISIS or IS) for some time now, noting their repeated terror attacks, destruction of ancient archaeological sites, and their avowed intent to destroy the nation of Israel, but recent evidence connecting their radical Islamic doctrine to their appalling exploitation of a world humanitarian crisis has revealed their terroristic agenda to be even more brazen! According to CNN, the Syrian civil war has displaced half the population of Syria- nearly 11 million people! This has created a large scale humanitarian crisis as millions are walking from Syria towards any country willing to accept them. Many Europeans have been so overwhelmed by the sheer number of refugees, that they are physically closing their borders, forcing other countries to accept the waves of people.
In the middle of this chaos, ISIS has announced that they have been and will continue to exploit the refugee crisis to advance their jihad. The plan was to insert trained terrorists in the waves of refugees in order to gain total access into European countries- and possibly America! ISIS views this as a chance to embark on “hijrah,” an Islamic doctrine of migration that is interpreted by radical Islamics into a form of jihad.
The Express, a British newspaper, recently broke the story of and ISIS operative that claims more than 4,000 trained ISIS gunman have already been hidden among refugees and smuggled into Europe. He spoke exclusively on the condition of anonymity and offered a window into the ISIS plan, saying that the infiltration, while a complete success, is just the beginning of a larger plot to carry out revenge attacks against the West in retaliation of U.S. – led coalition airstrikes. The refugee crisis provides the perfect “cover.” It will allow ISIS to infiltrate Western countries and establish large Muslim populations, converting as many as possible to their extremist views. They will then launch terror attacks on the unsuspecting populace around them.
The Daily Mail UK has reported that ISIS terrorist have been seen forcing thousands of Syrian refugees to turn around despite being less than 100 yards from the Turkish border, proving that for many innocent refugees, “conversion” might not be by choice.
Experts are particularly concerned that through these forceful tactics, identities of innocent refugees could be stolen and assumed by ISIS terrorists. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper recently testified that this is a “huge concern,” as this could potentially affect the United States as pressure to mounts on Western nations to take in an increasing number of refugees. Clapper stated, “One of the obvious issues that we worry about is, exactly what’s their background?” If ISIS terrorists can assume the backgrounds of innocent refugees, they could gain complete access to the United States, meaning the civil war in Syria could have an impact on American safety. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry recently announced that the United States will increase the total number of refugees it will admit to 100,000 per year. At this time there does not exist any means by which so many people can be processed with any degree of certainty as to their true identity.
Remarkably, the Bible mentions some of the horrible activities ISIS has recently undertaken. In the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John recorded that he “saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:4) While this verse speaks prophetically of the Tribulation, notice the reference to those who had been beheaded. Sadly we have recently witnessed the horrific video footage of ISIS terrorists beheading numerous people. It is now very easy to imagine how large numbers of people will be beheaded by the agents of evil- we see it on the news! While the Bible clearly teaches that believers should offer assistance to those in need, caring for the homeless and poor (Proverbs 19:17, Isaiah 58:7; Luke 3:10-11), we need to be mindful of the nefarious means our enemies may use to harm us- whether they are spiritual enemies (Satan) or physical enemies (terrorists). As a country, the United States and the neighboring countries of Syria should help alleviate this crisis, but we must do so with a watchful eye toward the inherent danger posed by this recent threat. As Christians, we should pray over several aspects of this situation that could have potentially deadly global implications. – PNL
Pray: Pray that the refugees fleeing Syria who find safety in the countries to which they are trying to enter. Pray that these refugees would be kept safe from the marauding ISIS terrorists. Pray also for the leadership of the international community as to what actions should be taken to help alleviate this growing humanitarian crisis. Most importantly, pray that the Gospel can be communicated to the refugees fleeing Syria and those who remain in the war ravaged country of Syria.
