Elizabeth Warren Wants to Divide Jerusalem

The political left continues its assault on the nation of Israel. Senator Elizabeth Warren, one of the frontrunners for the Democratic presidential nomination, said she would both divide Jerusalem and restore aid to the scandal-laden United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and other pro-Palestinian agencies. The UNRWA has long come under criticism for their pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli bias. President Trump officially cut off aid to the organization in 2018. In fact, the United Nations, a vocal critic of Israel, has passed many resolutions attacking the nation, while openly supporting many Palestinian groups that are tied to various terrorist organizations.

Warren proposes to divide Jerusalem and use part of the city for a Palestinian capital. In a video conference in October, she said, “We must find ways to make tangible progress on the ground toward a two-state solution. Sometimes that might mean finding ways to apply pressure and create consequences for problematic behavior as previous Democratic and Republican presidents have done. For example, if Israel’s government continues with steps to formally annex the West Bank, the United States should make it clear that none of our aid should be used to support annexation.”

This is just another example of many within the Democratic party attacking the nation of Israel and supporting the Palestinian movement. Senator Bernie Sanders, another Democrat running for president, told the same group to thunderous applause that he would take away the $3.8 billion going to Israel for defense spending and give it to Hamas-run Gaza. Israel has served as an ally to the United States in the Middle East since its restoration and Hamas has repeatedly called for the destruction of both the nation of Israel and the United States. Sanders also called the Israeli government racist.

These types of statements have not come without backlash. Nikki Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, in response to Sanders’ statements posted on Twitter: “Just when you thought Bernie Sanders couldn’t get any more radical, he outdid himself. He wants to take money we give to Israel to defend itself from terrorists and give it to Gaza, which is run by terrorists? Unreal. Why isn’t every other Democratic president candidate saying he is wrong?”

The democratic party has continually attacked the nation of Israel and called for them to lose support, lose funding and to cede their territory to the Palestinians. In December, the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives passed a resolution opposing Israeli annexation of the West Bank. House Resolution 326 states that any U.S. proposal to solve Israeli-Palestinian conflict should endorse a two-state solution, and “discourage steps by either side that would put a peaceful end to the conflict further out of reach, including unilateral annexation of territory.”

The official Democratic position is that the two-state solution is the only possible solution. God promised the land of Israel to the descendants of Abraham as an eternal possession many times in Genesis 12, 15,17 and 22, as well as other passages in the Old Testament. Those who call for Israel to lose their land do not fall in line with God’s divine plan. In Genesis 12:3, God promised, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Pray that this anti-Israeli bias in the Democratic party would be deterred and a stronger Biblical foundation would be established. Pray that our nation would not go down a path that would incur the curse of Almighty God.
